But, Quietly

Folder:
Forbidden Fruit...

Did you ever
Think maybe never?
But, quietly
When love is familiarity.

How do you love the one you've hurt
When pride stands in the way?
But, quietly
When love is convenience.

Where do you shelter your heart
When love has been your only escape?
But, quietly
For love is everything and nothing,

It fills you up
And leaves you empty
But, quietly
When love is the tide of life's ocean.

I like this. Everything truly

I like this. Everything truly is love for me, and love...is god. I think many human beings, although very well intended, try to say and act as if they trivialize love down to being an action word that we could actually control and 'make manifst', but I love the Dali Lama's words on kindness because truly, I believe that is the greatest we are capable of producing.....everything else is well, 'love' (god), whatever that is....it rules us. Peace.

...and he asked her, "do you write poetry? Because I feel as if I am the ink that flows from your quill."

"No", she replied, "but I have experienced it. "
