Like Esau to Jacob, I sold my birthright for a bowl of stew... When far be it from our sights to see a bigger picture, so many of us settle for what is now in front of us. We reach for what we can see and disregard that which is coming. We choose instant gratification over long term rewards. May we all remember the error of our ways when the coming of the ultimate reward seems too long to wait and turn away from our sins and choose Christ. Let us remember this season, that it is not the material gifts that bring us closer together, but the love behind those gifts and the reason we choose to love the people around us.

Lord, help us all to stand on our feet and choose righteousness when it's so much easier to fall on our faces turn away from Your coming blessings and salvation. Amen.
