Another

Another, "I am so sorry!"

Another, "Darling, I love you so!"

Another, "I didn't mean to hit you!"

Another, "Please . . . please . . . don't go!"

Another, "I will do better"

Another, "I don't know what makes me this way"

Another, "I really do love you!"

Another, "I'll prove it, just don't go away!"

Another, "So where is my dinner!"

Another, huge hole in the wall!

Another, "God damn, you just make me so crazy!"

Another, "You know, you are the cause of this all!"

~

Another, small cry from the bedroom

Another, "Mommy, I am so scared!"

Another, child's sweet dreams now gone forever

Another, innocent soul, living this nightmare!

~

Another, thought of leaving tomorrow

Another, vow that this time she WILL go

Another, lie to a mother

Another, bruise to try not to show.

~

Another, "I will forgive him."

Another, "Perhaps it is really me."

Another, "Tomorrow I will do better"

Another, "I'll do better, just wait and see!"

~

Another, tomorrow, has come now

Another, broken body lying dead in the hall

Another, Mommy, who just could not see reason

~

Has left her child alone to the hell of it all!

Author's Notes/Comments:

This is NOT of personal experience.  Thank God, this time my friends this is not something I have experienced ~ But ~  It is experienced daily, nightly, all over the United States and the world.  Women so badly beaten and made to believe it is their fault.  Afraid to leave, afraid to stay ~ Just plain AFRAID!  If someone is reading this that is going through this hell, please, you can make a difference for yourself and your children.  There will always be, one more beating!  There will always be, one more night of confusion, shall I go? Shall I stay?  Can I really do this?  Can I get away from this Hell? There will always be one more "I love you and I will never do it again."  There will also be one more "Mommy, I am so scared!"  Don't let this happen to your child.  Don't let this happen to you!  Shall You go ~ yes! Can you really do this ~ you bet you can!  Nothing will change till you change it!  There are organizations that can help you if you can not go to family.  Please don't be the mommy that refused to see reason. ~Lesa~

Another poem that makes me cry.
Another poem that brought a tear to my eye.
Another great job.
Glad this has not happened to you.
I know people whom it has happened to, I have addressed it appropriately.

Lesa,
I was one of these women, and pregnant to. I lived in this horror for a year. When my son was born, one day i was holding him when i got hit by my ex, he also struck my son in the head with his fist, That day i knew i had to get out before one of us died.
But i got my licks in real good before i left. I never went back after that time. so yes it does happen and even to people we dont expect, it happens.
When reading this, it brought back the nightmares i thought i forgot about. but it is easier to deal with them now, I have healed with Gods help.
Thank you for writting this poem and letting people know it is out there and happening.
Thanks
Judy

My dear friend Lesa speaks straight from the heart of the poet that she is with this piece of work!

Whether we have experienced it in our own personal lives or not, we are all quite aware of this social problem that has always existed in the human race and will always continue to do so.

However it brings itself into being... low self esteem, alcohol, drugs, control issues or powertripping, abuse within relationships (Family or not) happens!
It always has and always will.
It is a terrible evil set upon mankind by the enemy of us all... Satan himself, and has been one of his most successful tools in the destruction of lives.

I am thankful that strides have been made in our world in recent years to help those (both victims and abusers) who are caught in this trap.
Perhaps if we all cared enough to poetically write about this issue as Lesa has done, it would help bring some of those victims out of the darkness of this never ending battle!

Thank you Lesa~ For your caring heart ~~

Peace and love ~~~ Dougie ~~

Hard poem to read! It reminds one of the dark aspects of a harsh world of confusion, equivocation, rationalization, selfishness, & madness. Too sad we sometimes add to the heinous cacophony of voices drowning in a sea of despair. If we could all just find the poetry of living, & share it with others, this world would be a better place.

This poem is a moving way to remind us all of this need. Thanks for the read.

A very poignant and striking poem, Lesa.
U have touched a raw nerve in many people here, and the essence of such a remorseless bane in every civilized society.

I lament the silent mouths of many wives...and coincidentally, my muse has been harboring this poem, related to this topic.
Will tell u more, once it is done.

Take care, lesa...and welcome BACK !

Lesa, this is ever so Powerful! Thank God it is not a personal experience for you. You did an excellent job here looking into the mind, and expressing the feelings of another. This is a wonderful, yet heartbreaking poem, one that hopefully will touch the hearts of women everywhere.
Great job ~!

WOW! PACKED FULL OF EMOTIONS. THIS REALLY IS AN HORRIFIC TRAGEDY. ABUSE OF ANY PERSON BY ANOTHER IS UNJUSTAFIABLE
ON ANY TERMS. MANY PERSONS OF ABUSE FEEL THAT THEY HAVE NO WAY OF FLEEING THEIR SITUATION. I JUST WISH THAT THEY COULD SEE THAT THIS IS NOT TRUE. MY UNCLES BROTHER SUFFERED FROM ABUSE BY HIS WIFE. ULTIMATELY HE DIED. I BELIEVE INDIRECTLY THE RESULT OF SUCH ABUSE. BUT, HE JUST COULDN'T TURN TO HIS FAMILY FOR HELP. GREAT POEM AND I WILL READ MORE. THANKS FOR SHARING. TERESA

This is GOOD, ~LESA~. I'm sure we all know someone in this condition. But we don't have to have EXPERIENCED that pain, in order to understand the pain of someone who HAS. Remember, it only takes ONE person to change the entire life and course of fate of another. "Love ye one another, and so fulfill the Law if Christ". Love and Prayers, Teddy.

"Poe" I'm not, nor "Rich" am I,
but I'll be famous, b'ye and b'ye !
