Lost Only For Tonight!

The mirror reflects an image that she finds very hard to accept.

Who is this person that looks back at her?

Where has the time gone?

Time, that had become her enemy, because there was always too much of it

to try to fill

has now become her burden

because there is too much to do to fill it.

She is tired and worn.

She had always sworn that growing older was going to be a joy

But growing older like so many other things that has now become her life

Just adds to the frustration of getting through another day.

Dark circles and lines are appearing beneath her eyes

The stress of the past months has now become evident.

She looks at the reflection and wonders how this could really be her.

Her life has dissappeared!

There is no time.

No time to set and pick up a needlework.

No time to come to a beloved website and write a word or two.

Everything that had ever been what has made her the person that she was

Has been taken away with the circumstances of the day.

She is tired of the fight.

She is tired of pretending that everything is fine

Everything is not fine!

Even her beloved words have seemed to forsake her

as she searches her soul and finds bitterness replacing the hope.

Why will the words not come?

They had always been her friend, her companion,

her therapy when the world was just too much to bear!

The words call to her

~ but ~

cannot be expressed.

She cannot bear another saddness.

Has she lost the one thing that can express the person that is her?

Does she even know the person that her new life has made of her?

She is lost.

She is lost in a new life that is foreign to her.

She is lost in prayers of acceptance but finding it hard to

hear the answers.

She is lost

~but~

ONLY for tonight!

She has had her moment of self indulgence.

She has had her moment upon the page.

She has had her time with friends who care.

Lesa

YOU HAVE SET THE MOOD AND THE READER CAN EASILY FOLLOW AS YOU REVEAL ALL OF YOUR TRUE FEELINGS. WE HAVE ALL BEEN THERE AT SOME POINT OR ANOTHER. YOU MAKE IT SO EASY FOR US TO HAVE APATHY FOR YOUR CAUSE. VERY GOOD POEM. I MUST READ MORE. THANK YOU FOR SHARING WITH ME. LOVE AND PEACE TERESA

Not to worry... The words come when they want as you know! Like you, I find myself overwhelmed by life at times ( Of course we all do ) especially in the last few years and of course these last few months... Just nice to know that you have friends tho right? Of course you remain in my prayers and it's quite ok for you to feel like this... But then , you know that don't you!
Always with peace and love ~~~~ Dougie ~~

~LESA~, we all get down on ourselves from time to time; for me these seem to be times sent by God to REALLY "introspectate" on our lot & life, dredge it ALL up to the surface, & let the SON dry it out awhile. The SPIRIT will breathe upon it, & what remains can be arranged into the PRETTIEST of all pictures of "dried flowers" you can imagine!! You are not alone, as the many Critiques above testify. Thank you for this lovely trip into your feelings; we have been praying for you & your "H". CIAO, Teddy

"Poe" I'm not, nor "Rich" am I,
but I'll be famous, b'ye and b'ye !

Been there. Done that. It's normal and not YOU. You're only human, Lesa. Nobody else is as critical of ourselves as we are.

Jessica

Lesa, thanks for sharing your innermost thoughts. It is very admirable of you to express the recent turmoil in your life in words, simple but powerful words! No matter how tough life gets, your writing talent is something that can never be taken away from you. You weren't lost Lesa, not even "Lost Only For Tonight!"

Lesa;

I have been right there, though maybe different circumstances. Your not lost, even for one night. You will come to realize that you are embedded deeper in your faith than you realize. All your friends are behind and beside you every step of the way.

You have a lot of feeliong in all that you write or put on to paper.

Love;
Sharrell

A sense of weariness pervades through this poem, Lesa...and it is indeed a brooding mulling piece of poetry from the heart.
Thanxs for opening up that bit of innerworld to us.. it is most sincerely penned.

We miss u too...and welcome u back to these halls.

In unequivocal literary terms, it is
called Writer's Block. But beyond that
lies the kind of balladic consciousness
Lesa has finally splashed herein...

It is the only way towards a healing
process. Apt and striking words indeed.

Discovering one's true
inner self is so refreshing!

A metaphoric and bold explication
of those creatice realms we fear to
tread...

God bless you much more
abundantly, with the spirit
to be and soar on these creative
paths, Lesa!! You are always in
my prayers!!!
