Mechanical as these minds are
A wish, a breath, a shutting star
Holds a soul they've yet to see
A bitter tear, you've forsaken me
As built in as our need to breathe
My child like love for you; conceive
And in my depths, oceans of blue
I find my savour slain by you
These tears of metal, crystal lies
The ironic ways a human cries
So automatic, programmed in
Beware of love's original sin
But to these minds I dare not say
That in my mind I see a way
To fight the system, lose the fears
To crystallise these automatic tears
I really like it!!
It's true, tears are automatic, everyone cries for the same reasons, no one's unique when it comes to crying.
This is really good.. and I completely agree with your point. A single word makes you cry just bc and you cant even figure out why.. programming. sounds like a good explanation to me! :)
yah but its like we are programed to cry about the things we cry about
its like we don't even need to think about it we just hear something and cry, like someone put a tick in our mind, love, oh gotta cry for that word

Crying is healthy.
I hate the feeling of tears streaming down my face, but it's healthy in a way.

Excellent poem, ashley!
Awesome use of imagery to get your point across, but it seems a little strange that after all the mechanical things, you seek "To crystallise these automatic tears" ... just seems strange :-)
Keep up the good work!

Tears on cue?
Like that part in the movie you say you are not gonna cry about this time and you do cry anyway. Tear jerkers cue you; something inside erupts like a volcano and tears spew out like lava. Yep, on cue. Great commentary in this poem about crying ~Lady A~
