Pieces of Eight



Tiny gold pieces,

Lay scattered ,on the polished wood floor.

Rectangular, oblong and some with sharp edges.



Attempting to put all these pieces together

to form a clear rendering,

is for the most part impossible.



For some of these fragments

Won’t fit today or even tomorrow.

But somehow,

Time seems to sort out the puzzle.



Looking back we see how some

of the most unusual pieces

seemed to just fall into place.  



All of the pieces are important and beautiful

for they all make up the treasure

which is you.
