Absence
You cannot hear the beating of my heart,
as it beat against your chest.
I can no longer hear your soft sighs
breathed into my ear.
next to me in sleep.
I no longer smell
the scent of your skin ,
damp with our love.
I cannot see the even
rise an fall of your chest
In satisfied sleep of loves.
My body is no longer locked
in the circle of your arms
in that safe warm embrace
I feel the loss completely
Only emptiness remains.
