The Pretender

She walks along the road gaily

She moves with the crowd easily

She passes by with a smile, how glee

You'd think she'll spend it happily.

She smiles and talsk with confidence

Believes that she does them without pretense

Nobody, not even her friends sense

She sometimes gets nervous, feels tense.

Inside her mind lurks wild thoughts

Of these there is nothing to boast

She's suffering, burning like toast

She's screaming out loud, it's a ghost.

She's independent in every way

No one can ever make her stay

Almost everyone around her says

You don't need someone to spend your days.

That's what they continued to believe

She's a person with so many things to achieve.

With God's grace, she asks how righteous she can live

Who is she really trying to deceive?
