Two leaves used to sit up there on the tree,
Whispering each day until the wind crawled on tree,
One of them was about to reach the ground,
As the other watched and wished
That instead he hit the gorund,
Second one was watching hoping they won't lose their bound.
In the other blow second leaf fell down,
The first was waiting
Crying 'cause second was falling down,
When they meet again they comforted each ohter,
Promised that they'll stay together
And second kissed first like a brother.
For couple of days they played on the brezze,
When some kid run among them and they were lost once again,
Once again they meet when sweeper came their way,
But than they were yellow and dirt covered them gray,
They were happy to see each other again
But this time they'll end up in same can.
Author's Notes/Comments:
This is about two friends for life, not leaves, but humans. First stanza would be about childhood, after childhood many best friend divide, one of them moves away and for kids it's hard to keep friendship. That's where second one comes in, it would be about maturity, some bad things happen and one of them realise that there's noone else that he can turn to. Than they also usually depart because of different jobs, wives from different circles, geting a child and obligations to it, just not enough time. 3rd continues on 2nd one with maturity but a part where friends divide again, and than about comin' close again in old days. Then with next two lines I tried to describe oldness:
"Once again they meet when sweeper came their way
But than they were yellow and dirt covered them gray"
Sweeper is actually a reaper, yellow was about skin color (when you are old your skin gains yellow color), with gray I was refering to hair color.
And in last line with "same can" I was refering to the earth. This was too long explenation. For most it wasn't needed, but a lot of others didn't understand the poem.
