Requiem

A mere requiem, a requiem for you.

To see you lying here, what are we to do?

We stand on this Earth, as you lay in the ground.

Taking life for granted, as you make no sound.

Most of us don’t see that we may be next.

Living and loving, all records in text.

Your life will be missed, as the days go by.

As we succeed and we fail, Let your spirit roam high.

Heaven is your new home, you will enjoy it more.

This world is corrupted, each day is sore.

You lay here before us, a man of work, Intellect and love.

And we stand proud, you watch from above.

Mourning for you, we will not cease,

We just wish, You Rest in peace.

We gather here, thinking of you.

This is a mere requiem, a requiem for you.

Yesterday’s History,

Tomorrow’s A Mystery,

Today is a Gift.

Requiem:

So well written this poem of yours, a lovely piece to remember one by. I see this poem as quaint; I mean this as a compliment, there are so few these days that would find the time to write and make this creation for a loved one. A very good read I like your work in this poem.
