A cigarette hangs off her lips
She seems the epitome of bad
A bitch; untouchable
Some body that no one knows
But underneath the piercings, tattoos,
Dark baggy clothing
Lies a girl
A girl lost; confused
Hiding from the people who’ve hurt her
The wounds they’ve inflicted
And the scars created by them
Her body is covered with bruises and lacerations
Many self inflicted but most by him
He is- her boyfriend, her father, her uncle,
Some stranger on the street
He harms her
Treats her like his whore
And she lets him
Some part of her wants him to do it
To punish her for her sins
She deserves it.
So he kicks her, bites her, hits her, and rapes her.
And she’ll continue to suffer
Submissive to his blows
Not willing to retaliate
And so while others see her as a threat
She herself is injured inside.
