Singapore to Sibu by Bus
Sibu has been nicknamed as Swan City and is located in the central region of Sarawak in Borneo. When you reach Sibu make sure to visit Tua Pek Kong temple, Wong Nai Siong Memorial Garden, Lanang bridge which is also considered to be one of the longest river bridges in the whole of Sarawak, Wisma Sanyan which is the tallest building in Sarawak and the Jade Dragon Temple. With so many attractions in one place Sibu has a lot of foreign tourists visiting throughout the year. The most preferred way of travelling to this city is by road as it quite economical. Currently Sibu has 2 bus terminals to cater to buses within the town as well as those coming from Singapore.
When you want to visit some of the best and the most beautiful cultural centres in Asia you should definitely head to one of the most famous cities in Malaysia, Sibu. This city ensures that you have a full fledged experience and not partial. If you are a true traveller make sure that you experience some of the most authentic locations in Sibu. During my visit to Malaysia, Sibu occupied place 3 in my visit list. If Sibu is not on your list chances are high that you might visit this place on a stop over during your journey to Miri or Kuching. The town has garnered a lot of attention in recent years – thanks to the annual borneo cultural festival which is held in July every year and it was started only with one reason which was to showcase the different and unique cultures of all of the residents of Sibu. I got a taste of the real culture – thanks to this popular cultural festival. Sibu is also home to the gorgeous temple of Tua Pek Kong temple. The city is also known to be a bustling point for travel companions and real and local Malaysian produce. When it comes to reaching this Malaysian city there is no other mode of transportation other than the traditional local bus travel. Reaching here by bus is quite convenient as Malaysia is known to have a good network of roads that have been well maintained.
One thing that I could not believe was the extremely cheap prices of travel. After my journey from Singapore to Sibu I could rest in peace as I had plenty of money balance for buying souveniers and chocolates for my friends and family back home. I booked my bus tickets from redbus within minutes by paying online. I could select my pick up point and also my choice of seat.
Bus plying on the route between Singapore and Sibu generally depart as early as 6:45 am in the morning and their services end as late as 11:00 pm in the night. There is only one bus operator plying on this route which is Bintang Jaya Express. Sibu has plenty of tourist destinations that are definitely worth seeing. I travel to most of these destinations by bus thereby saving on a lot of money.
