When she
by a Man From Maine
and when she smiles
I feel warmth in my heart
and when her eyes glisten
I melt and succumb
and when she speaks
I hear no other sound
and when she frowns
I search to cure
and when she shows concern
I carry as though my burden
and when she speaks of life
I understand a meaning
and when she were to sin
I will pay with my being
and when she fails
I will teach she has not
and when she loves
I know heaven on our Earth
I have been reading poetry
I have been reading poetry for forty-five and a half years, and this is one of the most beautiful love poems I have read in all that time.

Thank you
Thank you for your kind words. Truly the one that would understand what I wrote is the subject of my affection. But I'm glad you liked it.

Thank you very much!
I love the way you jump
I love the way you jump straight into this as if half way through without an actual beginning. Very unusual. Lovely wording too. Sue.

"...heaven on our Earth..."
a nice reworking of a cliche - I love it when that happens - The repetition makes it rhythmic, like a song lyric. (& yes, beautiful) ~(:D) Star
