THE NEW WORLD
It was the year 2021, everything was so quiet in New York City, a nuclear war had extinguished the entire human race, and the only survivors were the animals, all kinds of animals, rabbits, horses, cats, dogs, lions, snakes, elephants, every single animal you could think of, had survived the nuclear war.
A meeting was announced by the animals’ council, and every single survivor animal had to attend it. The meeting was going to be held at central park, Sunday at noon. The purpose of this meeting couldn’t be anything but the foundation of the new world, the new animal world!
They day came and every single animal specie gathered in Central Park. When the meeting started, the lion, who was the president of the animals’ council, took the word and said:

Welcome everybody, as you know, every single human has vanished from the phase of the earth, so now, we have the responsibility to found a new world, just for ourselves, the animals!
When they heard this, a los of animals cheered and shouted with joy.

So what we are going to do is this. Said the lion.

Every animal specie, is going to get a country of the world, just for themselves, so they can live in peace and harmony, and we are going to assign the countries for each specie.
Everyone was psyched with this news, there will never be a fight between animals again, and every specie was going to live together in harmony for the rest of their lives. Nobody cared which country they got, as long as they could be together as a family, so any country they got was okay, except for Cuba, nobody wanted to get Cuba, every animal thought that Cuba was the worst country in the world, they thought there was no food, no homes, no trees and no fun. Even thought that most species hadn’t even been to Cuba, this is what they thought. So anybody who got Cuba, would be the unluckiest!
So the lion started calling the species and the countries they would get, which were randomly selected.
The tigers went to India, the monkeys went to Brazil, the Bears went to the United States, the rabbits went to Mexico, the elephants went to China, and so on.
When the time of giving out Cuba came, everyone was scared, nobody wanted to go there, so when the lion said: “the ones that are going to Cuba are the pelicans”.
The pelicans were so angry and sad at the same time, because nobody wanted to go there, they tried to appeal that decision, but they understood it was fair, and it was all by pure luck. So they resigned and they went to live in Cuba.
What a surprise they got when they arrived in Cuba and they saw it was nothing like they pictured, it wasn’t an ugly country at all! There was a lot of food, a lot of trees where they could live in, and a lot of fun things to do, it was a paradise! So at the end, the pelicans settled in Cuba, and they lived happily ever after.
The moral of the story is: don’t believe it until you see it and don’t judge a book by its cover.
