I'm accustomed to the nightmare day

between the haunting smile, some joy,

a way to sctutinize the hours without

assistance from artifice or illusion.

.

I'm recalcitant when those bad guys

show up and try to steal my calm.

When the bad girls show, I try hard

to ignore their egos and concentrate

harder on not laughing visibly.

.

I'm indifferent to the necessity

of medical prescriptions for conditions

that will persist whether I take it seriously

or not. I live a paranoid, schizoid existence

and the headaches and muscular aches

are old buddies. I just live in hell

sometimes and fan the flames.
