I Can Live Without

Yes please, take away cars,

I lived once without one. Take

oil and gas and corn curls. Shut

off my lightbulbs of 40 watts, my

Black Barbie is weeping, cut off

my afro, unbattery cell phones,

take chocolate, toenail clippers,

air conditioning, croissants,

and stop producing toilet paper,

just don't discontinue indoor

plumbing.

I can certainly get behind

I can certainly get behind this in theory. I believe, ultimately, the solution to our unsustainable overconsumption and lack of inner contentment is not more solar panels or wind farms, but to live happily with less. But that's easier said than done, and at the end of the day, I'll fight for my Charmin.

But I do like how you open up a dialogue by daring us to at least consider a simpler, saner lifestyle. Many times I've cursed our car culture and wished Henry Ford had been a complete failure. And I have great admiration and fascination for minimalists who can be happy with very little, or even average people who at least make an effort to leave a smaller footprint.

A great discussion piece. Wish more people would see it your way.

Balance

.

Balance is the goal. Enough. A lesson to be relearned. Materialist, make and use, pitch and forget. Now, the forgotten returns to be remembered.

Hope Not Hype

One day reason and logic based problem solving will replace the three fingered discount. Fund what works (ends the problem) what lasts. Its a dream I have. :D
