The Easy Way Out

She turns out the lights,

crawls underneath her sheets.

Stares at the ceiling,

Questioning herself...

She sits and wonders what is ahead

She waits and listens for a little intuition

The walls feel like they are closing in

She breathes deeper and deeper

Her thoughts spinning around her head.

She can't feel her fingers.

She can't feel her head.

Her whole body is going numb.

Her insides feel like they're burning.

Her brains seem to be fried.

Her thoughts turn wreck less.

She's losing her sight.

Her body is having convulsions.

She grasps her pillow tight.

She quivers over reality,

It sends chills down her spine.

She injects her needle,

She pops her pill,

She inhales the fumes.

Her sight has gone fuzzy.

She can now rest her eyes.
