This poem was written in dedication to all of those in my life that have passed away, and that they will always be in my heart forever, and this poem is also dedicated to a dear friend who just recently passed away, and I really felt that this poem describes a lot about how I am feeling, and how she was always a light to those whose lives that she’s touched with her love and kindness, and absolute acceptance to those that just want to be loved and embraced for all that they are, and how her never-ending advocacy for the LGBTQ community will always be what makes her a fierce and everlastingly beautiful ally, and she will always continue to live on in mine and everyone else’s hearts forever. Marsha, we love you, and this poem is dedicated to you, and you will always and forever be missed. We will never forget you for years to come. Cheers to you, wherever you are now, and I hope that you are at peace.
A LIGHT AMONGST THE SHADOWS

You have now come to be, a light amongst the shadows, of a touch of starlight that now shines in the heavens to watch over all of us in a time where we are grieving the loss of you, and in all that you would do to put a smile on our faces, but now is a time where I know that you have entered into a better place of eternal happiness for so many years to come as we will meet again one day, and that your smile will be seen from a thousand miles away, as if to say that you are okay, as you are now and have always been a light that illuminates the skies of a million stars that will never shine as bright as you, with all that you would do and have always done, for you have brought so much joy and happiness with the innermost love that radiates from being the only one, to have always been the one and only you, and that much I know is true, as you are and will always be the genuine love of all things that will make it impossible for anyone else to follow, in your footsteps of being the only person that is the one and only you, of what you have done and have always been to be able to bring love and happiness to everyone around you, as you will always be the genuine light that radiates with your love and harmonious smile of all else that follows, with your greatness and generosity of being the most beautiful light that will shine through, ever so fabulously amongst the shadows.
