The Bitter Dog
Whether it was morning or night, hot or cold, inside or outside, Toby would always be angry and bitter, he had two brothers and enough place to play but still he would always stare at everyone with big and sad eyes with no intention of gathering around with his family. There was only one person who could make Toby happy and excited: his human dad. There were three humans in the house Toby lived: his human dad, his human mom and his two human sisters, he was not a fan of the three women that lived there but he loved his human. No one knew if it was this human’s way of carrying Toby or the fact that he was the only who would speak to Toby as if he as a baby but he was Toby’s favorite living thing until one day, Toby’s human family decided that it was time for him to be left out of the group of dogs that would still be able to pro create.
It was a very cold day, which did not mean anything different but that Toby was already bitter and angry. It was 10am and he was in his usual spot at the sofa when his human entered the kitchen, were Toby was sleeping. It was a special situation and Toby knew it, he had been treated with much more love from his human family and he was not bothered during one of his intimacy sessions with his bed, he felt nothing, he was only wondering if the humans were going to behave like that more often or if it that was only day he would be left alone and free to do whatever he wanted. He saw his human make breakfast and demanded he was also given breakfast, he was, but then he saw how the human ladies took outside his dog brothers and got excited, he thought he had been chosen to be the only dog to stay inside the house while the humans ate breakfast.
Unfortunately for Toby, his humans were only preparing for taking him outside while his brothers could not see him leaving. He saw his human take his leash (there were 3 types of leashes in the kitchen and each dog knew of whom it was each) and jumped of excitement. Not everyone knew this but Toby loved when his human took him for a walk, he was the only who let him pee in every single tree that came across them. Toby’s human put him his leash and took him outside, they both went for a short walk in order to have Toby pee for one last time before his procedure and waited for the women humans to come out. When they did, both Toby and his human came back to the house, Toby was not happy about that but then he saw his human opening the car door for him and got even more excited, the only thing that could make Toby happier than taking a walk with his human is taking a car drive with his human.
The trip felt so long and Toby enjoyed it a lot, he felt that was the most exciting day he had ever lived. But then he saw how the car was going inside the mall where his vet was, he hated the vet, he was constantly bothered by the veterinarian’s treatment to him but he loved peeing on every single corner of the vet’s office. Toby noticed something was different, he was not being taken to the consulting room and his humans were not going in with him, he panicked and started barking but no one was doing anything.
The next day Toby woke up at his house with his dog brothers and his human family, once again he was sleeping at the kitchen’s sofa looking at everyone with the same bitter sad eyes he would give his family, he was feeling even more bitter and angry. He had been betrayed by his human and could no longer trust no human.
