The Sea

Folder:
Black

I sink in it, overwhelmed
You simply watch me plummet down

With no air to sustain
Only a sea of thrashing pain

You stand to leave and,
softly whisper; "breathe in"

& force open my mouth,
To swallow your sea of doubt

I do what you expect of me
though it'll be the death of me

I take my place amongst the tide
Inhaling all waves provide

Though my lungs burn to breathe
They've learned more; to yearn the sea

Since you know what's best for me,
Take it all,
what's left of me
