Shovel
As dark and wet as loveless sex,
he laid her body in the ground,
and shovelled dirt from toe to breast,
then sat to rest upon the mound,
One last gaze upon that face,
her face though dead to him was pert,
and so he heaved himself and shovel
to smother her with all the earth.
