Once Bitten

Night comes out from within a sky of dark

And the great moon's but a scant hole in the eve.

We breathe in the scent of tears and living,

To determine our course in reprieve.

The night's not our shield, for we fear not the evil

That lurks with us while on our way.

But it gives us a place for finding some space,

For in it's blood we shall find the day.

If there were but two ways to live your life,

Honesty is but one.

And if there were two ways to win the game,

Then I would be the one.

So, follow me to seek nights where discovery abounds.

Where we'll dwell in our desires and give

Notice to these desires amongst the sights and sounds

To let go our inhibitions and live...

With such dreams you couldn't imagine

And loves from which you dare not hide.

Yes, these gifts I present to you so gladly.

For to you alone I promise a peace

They are just inside,

Yes, for in love I am with you this madly.

A bite in the night, with velveteen teeth,

Your neck has been marked so well.

The flesh at my mouth, it loathes me not,

We both are in love, I can tell.
