He stares. Waiting for her to return the hopeful glare
After the moment of silence
She turns her head
Realization floods her face and becomes sad
The few in the room seem to notice uneasiness
Their chatty conversing dulls
Like rain on a thick window
He opens his mouth.
She cuts off his thought
And replies with a gesture to say 'stop looking'
A short silence infiltraded by his lips opening again
"I love you."
Instead of a natural blush she replied with
"So tell me why you're afraid."
Both of their eyes widen
He stands as if to leave
The one boy watching from the room feels scared
And shifts to simple thoughts
"I am not afraid. I need to make sure this is right.
I need precaution to feel safe
You should have figured that out by now."
He spoke with half-hearted dignity
The words were lightning
And her heart started pounding like thunder
He heard it and became more sure of what she would say
And expected 'sorry'
He was decieved by her mouth cutting open
"I was waiting for you to realize it."
She looked through his eyes
He knew what she meant and shook his head
Then locked his eyes on her again
"I love you."
She knew he meant it now
A wave of frustration came to her
"You need to love yourself before you can think of loving another."
The only new words she could find
He searched in her eyes
"I could say the same, but I was waiting for you to realize it."
Her face had shown shock be she was merely afraid he was right
She opened her mouth one last time
"Then I will wait. Because I thought I loved you too"
:D
thank you!
