Is it me… It is me…

Is it me…

that escapes across digital vellum

words in whispers print without ink

this poor poem I wish I could tell them

it seemed so easy but it is hard to think

no work is without toil, I write without a pen

no joy without laughter, no whiskey to drink

between dreams and sleep

primal reckoning beckons deep

and sighs like a waning moon

struggle with the sandman he will win soon

light fades in conspiracy and shadows stratum

as my face falls flat onto hard macadam

scorned supplicate of the immortal

still in my wee hours I am at this portal

the heavens discharge my requiem

issue the warning my soul is like a museum

and so we are all in the hands of some evil tools

visions between clichéd rules

neither give cherries to pigs nor advice to fools

I eat the night hungrily and lick the velvet sky

haunting hereafter cowers in my eye

elusive longings disappear bar an impulse to cry

smooth visions devoured by sensation

sensual touch in the sly vast night
expose in advance of some provocation

exhale with lovers' and dawns breaking light

when the air tastes sweet a witness to prayer

as I write to recite at sometime, somewhere

It is me…

I am printing out this poem

I am printing out this poem so I can feel it is my own, and putting it in my bra to read in privacy over and over again.

Because if feels good.

Because I want to sigh like a waning moon, like it makes me feel.  ;-)

Seriously think it's 'the bomb'.  Every line has an awesome something.

...and he asked her, "do you write poetry? Because I feel as if I am the ink that flows from your quill."

"No", she replied, "but I have experienced it. "

Digital Vellum, Batman!

Damn, I wish I had thought of that line, but it's yours and kudos for't. Love the new pic. If I printed out this poem and stuck it....in my stack of other poet's poems (Phewooooooo) I'd write a poem based on every line - a poet's poem this one - Great writing, great poetics! Such balance! Be well, ~allets~
