in science the theory is about governing motion
constant calculation for most physical interactions
didn't take into account things like human emotions
two becoming one through addition and subtraction

poets can only whisper about the power
until we shudder,

concede to the curve of space and time
we are plagued with battered texts
tethered and collared to the sphere
unable to flee or disperse

covered with decay
lost to the shear forces of enormity
unable to cure this condemned influence
this scarred logic

levels without beginning, middle or end
weighted down by unknown opposition
half possessed by a hint
that neglects the stains
that change scent after rains

across the horizon

patinas obscure the words
and the night dissolves
into an exile of shaped silence

the acute, outlined by negative spaces
blindly, toward the dark we turn our faces
learning the unspoken truth

we pursue not desire

we pursue absence

the ability to get away

in a universe that is against flight
that is the entire fight

we are unable to freely fly

this is where we live this is where we die

it is like getting hit in the head
by an apple falling out of its tree
