I am as rough as Oak tree bark
jagged and course
a face of love beaten black-and-blue
while expertise lied on a whim
as my tough exterior was way out on a limb
a broad axe tongue carves quick like one last kiss
with but a pitiful smile in an instant she draws my blood
clouded shadow in the autumn air see the red running like sap
aura around in fading light, timber, I've fallen with a calamitous thud
wonder why
you woke up
craving
streetlamp afterglow
in the nighttime on a busy city street
between blackness and dreams
your sultry voice enters my ears
yanked and extended
you vibrate a mirage
sexy distress all tied up
it’s a good way to learn techniques
to emphasize the wrong thing
those words slipped from your lips
the words they curled around me as you spoke
like vines choking out the life of an oak
teeth chattering tension...
you continued with relentless annihilation
you meant those words as some kind of truth
but you wouldn’t know truth if it groped you on the subway
it's been ages since I have read your work...
man I forgot how good you were with words my dear! I loved all the vivid imagery in this one and the ending was perfect!
thanks for the share
