Godlike Longevity

Why must life be so short,
And time so dear?
What if one lived for longer?
No longer death feared.

To be a killer,
To be a king,
To be a hero,
with waxen wings!

To be a laborer,
To be a lord,
To be feared and respected,
Commanding great hordes.

To be successful,
Oh, to have fame!
To be loved and admired
To honor my name.

To live a thousand lifetimes,
And still to be young!
How sweet that might taste
If death were undone.

You're such a fantastic poet!

You're such a fantastic poet! Your logic and uncommon set of intelligence mixed with your way with words creates gorgeous poetry.

Thank you. This reminded me

Thank you. This reminded me of my days in high school, when I would drive up to the canyon contemplating life while looking up at the stars.

Beautiful and honest
