Levity

Why is it that I lack a palette
For the whimsical and trivial
For cheery and hysterical
For tawdry and all frivial

Dreamers in a dreamworld
Filled with rainbow lace and golden ribbon
Bubbles silver, trumpets bronze
their idle talk - materially driven

People all around me
And their petty little chatter
They smile and they smirk
They pretend that it all matters.

Why cannot I share this stupor?
Why cannot i just accept?
Conform with those around me
Throw away all self respect

To be wise is to lonely
To see when all are blind - a sin
I'm despised for not pretending
Cast away for not fitting in

I really like this poem.

I really like this poem. Sometimes its nice to get away from people, from the world. And see in a differnet perpsective  the way they act and how worthless are some of the things they care about now. and sometimes the craze to be popular is sickening. and i think this piece of art really puts it inot perspective. :D

Thanks bro!

I was a bit nervous about adding the description just cause I don't like hurting people... but like I said, there were just not a lot of poems being posted that I liked!!!

I understand and really

I understand and really respect you writing this piece, although we must at least try and be artful, because if something really bad happened to anyone it can really affect them, though I do know what you mean some people are melodramatic for trivial things like rivalry and jealousy etc...
