Her Eyes

Big and beautiful
Glazed with such mystery
Dark and deep
Witness to much history

Drenched in wisdom
Flecked with brilliance
Glowing glorious
An undying resilience

Brown and green of the most glorious shade
In all ways that matter perfectly made
Radiance in their shimmering reflections
At one with her soul, a perfect connection

I look up into the sky at night
The stars become her eyes so bright
Her presence everywhere in sight
How can I set my crazed mind right?

Right as rain
True as the sky
Bright as the sun
Like mountains high

Treacherous crags
Hard as rock
Steady and cool
An unmoving block

She feels as deep as the ocean blue
With her perfectly crafted eyes of two
And from within, her soul shows through
And drift I away in misery

As I drift Iā€™m all alone
The scorching sun beats harshly down
Like her smoldering eyes that pierce so far
Glistening jewels upon a crown

Her eyes burn passion
Her eyes burn love
But for another, not for me
And so I was forced to set her free

Author's Notes/Comments:

This was one of my very first... I go back and look at it now and then and cringe. It almost breaks my heart that it has so many views I really don't like this Poem :P

Eyes tell a whole hell of a lot, don't they? Always the first thing I notice on anyone.

I don't know why I find eyes so fascinating. They are just so incredible!!! Every person life and world captured and perceived by their own unique pair.
