ODE TO SHELLEY AND KEATS

Lacking Percy Shelley’s eloquence

I struggle to find the correct phrase

It just goes by simple coincidence

That I’m monitored by my own ways

Shelley rose thru the orchids of rhyme

While I vainly search for reason

He stood top the logic of time

While I remain guilty of treason

Shelley and Keats found the correct line;

The meter; the sweet rhythm of dreams

I walk the forest and the pines

But no beauty comes from the moonbeams
