As Absence Turns

The sky bends under unnamed weight,

a path without its anchor,

voices gather but refuse

to name what hardens or shines.

Light fractures across the stone,

a sudden presence where absence ruled.

The ground steadies, yet no mooring holds,

and brightness refuses to gleam by name.

Anchor drifts between broken syllables,

shine threads through the dim air.

The song rises without burden,

and the horizon dissolves into motion.

Author's Notes/Comments:

Footnote: This poem is composed in a prototype form called the Ban‑Cycle Stanza.
Each stanza operates under a rotating ban‑list: certain motifs are forbidden in one stanza,

then required in the next, while new bans are introduced.

The cycle creates tension through absence and renewal through return,

making constraint itself the generative engine of the poem.
