so long

I stumble through the chords,

Seeking the melody,

To a repetitious rhythm,

The pain it’s a familiar one,

It burns my pale cheeks

As an ancient as I has learnt again

Its been so long

My fingers kill as I play this song, (so damn long)

In my awakening,

To another part of my life,

Distracted I was for somewhat,

a short eternity,

I was lost

Now I am here, seeking again,

This day, too final,

the presses,

To slow

The music rings louder than my voice

The echo in my ears

Brings tears, to my eyes,

Questions I have, just for a second

They seize while I sway to my melody

The rhythm I create

It’s been so long since

I knew where I was going

Knowing what I was going to do

Knowing how and where

The flowing

It’s snowing

With thoughts

Never growing

Been so long…….

Now I’m home

Author's Notes/Comments:

The lyrics of this song are to be spoken softly in a deep voice (almost style of Barry white) and the music simple slow picking on classical guitar.

I feel it is relevant for I have again drifted from my music and here on post poems it is the only creative way I express my thoughts and self.
