You know I'm poor
How could you not?
But sometimes even I feel rich!

I don't have much
but I have more than some
and I helped a poor family with Christmas!

I hope the boy likes the toys,
the games I could afford to get him

But it's more than he would
have gotten if I didn't know
his family was hurting.

The best thing about Christmas
is the feeling you get
when you can help someone else.

Children deserve a good Christmas
I don't mind if I don't have a tree
or decorations
or presents
because I gave away all my money
to a little boy so he could.

So even though I worry
about too many bills
not enough money
no good paying job
thinking I helped a great kid
have a somewhat nicer Christmas
is a feeling of wealth I can happily
think of on my blue days.

I couldn't afford much
but I guess I could afford more
than his mom and dad

I hope next Christmas is better for all of us
But this Christmas, I feel just a little richer than before.
