sucking out the marrow
of life and spitting it into the
victim’s marred face
laughing at our chains
mocking our inability
killing our innate nature
no longer human
a growing bacteria
living breathing devouring
destroyer of all things
good and glorious
plagued by disease
choking on inflamed words
pleading to be purged
trapped forever in a
swift and unforgiving sea;
drowning
now standing falsely accused
scapegoats and targets
abused and ignored
unheard and unloved
the testaments of neglect
eternal martyrs
