my bed is a whole

took me hours to dig

not comfortable at all

feels like im sleeping on a pile of rocks

wait i am

breakfast is leftovers

cold, stail and unfilling

we have no free time, there is no fun

well you wouldnt think so cause your not us

we were called upon

it takes something special to do what we do

0400 wake up

0500 pt

0700 chow

0730- kids go to school

while we're driving tanks and dropping bombs

01200 lunch for normal people

we wrap up bodies and pray we're not next

0300 kids are home from school, do homework have fun

soldiers cry for help, MEDIC MEDIC another man down

we're low on ammo and the enemies closing in

tell my wife i love her

every soldiers last words

not me not here not now

i got a lifetime of happiness waiting for me back home

the thought of you keeps me alive

0630 dust blows in my face as the wounded are lifted off by medevac

screams and cries are all i hear

stand down the CO yells

flares frags bombs gunshots go off all around me

its an ambush we're done for

but you gotta believe

especially when your a soldier

believe in one another and you'll make it through everything

cause when your in the field each other is all ya got
