I never recognized,
You were so important.
Like sunlight to a rainy day,
Like a prince to his princess.
Relieving my adolescent pain,
the weights laying me out,
or the baggage drowning me in the sea.
But you lifted me up,
Strung me out
and woke me up.
Now you're gone,
Like a worn out song
and I can no longer sing along.
I scream and cry,
But there's no way to get you back.
The moral of this ode is:
I feel complete remorse,
I should have recognized,
You were important,
And now you are gone.
