Your luminous laurel fashioned of light
casts burnished
bright
upon my
face
as my eyes pace
and fluctuate
Ever softer words I read which
captivate
freeze my gaze, my captured obscurity
drilling deepest aversions
I could hear you speak for hours
ever and ever,
Then never.
Above every obstacle though not alone
as I'm with you through every stride
and at every fork in the road
The fork is wider than a world, now.
I'll never know you again, it seems.
I long for the nostalgia I never knew I'd miss.
Vanished, like an echo through eternity
