Dancing with the darkness inside

Consuming the flesh

With nothing left to hide

Exposed to the very core

The beating heart is the source of the sore



The peace that glows in you

Will help me pull through

My toughest times

With you right here

Your wings will help us fly

Towards the sun

To eclipse a love long lost



My dark touch begs to consume

The purity you've brought to bloom

Give me a chance

To show the light I bear

Surely it will bring plenty of flare

To create the magic of before

I need you though, to heal my core



Tired now and drifting towards the light

A calming sensation soothes this fight

Burning away the curse that I bear

It is your love that I plead you to share

Let your tears wash away

All that I am made of, rot and decay



Reaching up to touch your face

I know you'll take us to a better place

Standing upon the golden door

Opening to a world I haven't been before

Guardians stop me as I try to step through

Spears drawn, yelling "monster there is no angel with you"

Turning around looking back to see

Not a single soul behind me



I reach for the sky and begin to scream

The tears roll down, the sun fading its gleam

I'm waking up again wondering

Was this all just a dream?
