Haunting

whispering through the dying leaves

a chill October wind claims its victims

like Lucifer harvesting lost souls

casting them to and fro and to nowhere

to be trapped in shadows devour to decay

feeding the night with their sweet stench

warning the strongest that death conquers all

and in the birth of dawns absolution

beauties memory remains forever

in lifeless strewn colors of defeat
