I had a dream tonight
That everything turned out right.
I was clothed in layers of satin
In a past best forgotten
I had a hooped skirt and bounded hair
Wound with fragrant flowers
And a touch of ancient flair.
My life had been changed once again
Suspended in a time that had an end.
I looked out the window
To the countryside below
The moonlight was like a halo
Against the paleness of the snow.
I was staled by the knock of the door
As the hand extended through
I grasped it
And knew for a time
I had found my heaven at last
In this time that was my past.
