In the middle of the night
I wake to find darkness surrounding and me alone.
No one to comfort me,
No one else calls this home.
When I wake from the nightmare that still holds my fear
There is no one to tell,
No one hears.
I sit alone all by myself
Thinking through the mess that I just awoke from.
The startling realization that I am alone,
With dangers to face on my own.
Nightmares turn to a reality of their own,
When no one is here to comfort me,
When I am totally alone.
