Poetry I Can
I write poetry because I can finish it,
I can't finish anything else.
I tend to over think the issues and not just get them out.
I can start writing a story but then I start writing two more.
They only have beginnings with no hope for endings anymore.
They seem to take forever and I have been writing them my whole life.
Poetry just seems so simple;
It’s the easiness that makes it right.
There are only a couple of lines and I can finish them then,
It isn't a whole story with twists and plots and ends.
I have so many ideas; I just can't seem to get them out.
I guess I am looking for the easy way,
Which seems to be what poetry is all about.
