The little boy stopped me
and asked if I could spare a dime.
I told him to go away
I did'nt have the time.
While standing there to cross the street
the little boy continued to beg.
Taking everyones time
asking for one small token, one thin dime.
Kneeling down I asked the boy
why beg for just one dime?
He said it was'nt for me sir
It's for a sister of mine.
You see I want a candle
to light a window at home.
So Santa Clause will bring to her
the thing she really wants.
You see my sister can't walk
she can't get from here to there.
If Santa can see the candle in the window
he may bring her a wheel chair.
I gave the boy one thin dime
and followed him to his home.
And watched him lite the candle
as it made a soft warm glow.
The next morning on their steps
a wheelchair boldly sit.
And a litttle boy believed in Santa
because of a ten cent candle he lit.
