Biography and Bloodline

I think I see it clearer
Now that skin and bone remain
Everyone I once held dear
Now, goes by a different last name
Oh, the girls I've loved
Oh, the things they've left
Oh, this ball and this chain

This is a lullaby
My biography and bloodline

Grew up privileged, but so scared
Felt love for the first time with the preacher's daughter
And, could hardly bare the ending
Pride, pretending I didn't care
But, I did
And, I moved on in the pain
Found a girl that painted and walked against the grain
But, it wasn't me
She wasn't mine
And, time proved that well
So, I walked in the rain for a year or two
Maybe more
I wasn't counting
When their debutante daughter found me
A project to complete
But, I didn't not seek her fixing
And, my walking turned into running
And, my running took me miles away
Took me here
And, when I look up now
I can see clearer
These words and these poems
Have only fed my fear

Stunning. Not as focussed on

Stunning. Not as focussed on rhyme etc., but your rhythm (and the way you break it up) is very, very, very effective at compelling me to read this right to the last line. Killer last line as well. Thanks a lot.

up to the skies.
Thing like that drive me
out of my mind.

I watched it for a little while:
I love to watch things on TV." - Lou Reed
