As if a sojourner
I laid down roots no longer than I had to
And, shook what stuck loose
Until the hook with chain and anchor
Set sail my trepidation
And, found feet once fleeding
Comfortable with foundations
And, amongst the masses
I found you like a shipwreck beneath an ocean
Seemingly forgotten
And, hid behind your glasses
Peered eyes as if they'd never
Relinquished hope
Of other eyes retrieving their treasure
Just like a revelation
Nothing's found until it's ready
And, I can say now
Without hesitation
I am
Like a heart not yet enamored
Until a mother cradles the flesh her womb has carried
What I believed was love, now is buried
In the beauty of life discovered
Inside a shipwreck's secret hold
And, how the love of another
Unspeakably exceeds any worth found in gold
Just like a revelation
Nothing's found until it's ready
And, I can say now
Without hesitation
I am
Close, and growing closer
