The Flesh and Blood

I implore Your Mercy for discipline

A heart of Faith

Feet so firm, only You can supply

A tongue to confess the Life

You have provided

By the Flesh and Blood

You bore as You died

So often have I strayed from Your side

So lost a soul

You sought, lest it die

With open arms, You welcomed my

Weary heart to abide

In the Flesh and Blood

You bore as You died

So pure a Word, no tongue can find

Than God through Christ

By Spirit given

A Faith and Grace and sweet Salvation

Of forgiveness of sin and newness of Life

Through the Flesh and Blood

You bore as You died

I pray, Thee, Lord, of Thy ample Mercy

That as my flesh fails

My soul be rendered into Your Light

Be washed and cleansed

And, pure in Your righteous sight

By the Flesh and Blood

You bore as You died
