Catapult into the great unknown
Twist around the burning sun
My cold heart adsorbs the warmth
And, decorates with melting memory
Like specks of glitter and gold
Dropping crumbs along the path from which I came
Just to know how far and from where I’ve come
I could explain it better
This I know
But, through my chainmail and thrown away letters
Somehow I forgot to stow
Words, like weapons, stockpiled and ready to load
Just like raindrops dripping from a gutter’s holes
My wings had no chance of holding
Mine, like Icarus’s, attempt to touch the sun
Or, to follow where you’d go
So, I just catapulted into the great unknown
And, tried my best to bear my love before falling back down
To the cold, cold, unforgiving ground
I could explain it better
This I know
But, through my carefully sealed and thrown away letters
Somehow I forgot to stow
Words, like wax, to explain the meaning behind the specks of glitter and gold
