The winter comes and up-springs the wheat
On the side of finding something greener
The crisp fog of another breath, making me shiver
And, I’m one step closer
And, as my shoes hit the concrete
I can feel the sprinter bursting out of me
As my breath becomes heavier, I am able to see
How many more steps lie in front of me
But, I believe in struggling to appreciate victory
And, I believe in finding you by finding me
And, I believe in the patience of spontaneity
And, withholding love for the one who’ll show me why I believed
Now that the gray blanket has tucked us in
We’ll be able to find the warmth we need
As two stranger hearts become one familiar beat
We will conquer the steps between
Just as the tender blades wait to become seed
I have faith in days greater than presently
With harvests so full, grain bins awake overflowing
As if the very love of you and me
And, I believe in victory because of struggling
And, I believe in finding you by your finding me
And, I believe in spontaneity by waiting patiently
And, loving without withholding love from the one who sustained my belief
