Today a sparrow fell from the sky
No words to say
No batted eyes
No sympathy for a diamond in a mine
No ego without a light
No wings spread
No tears to cry
It’s just like a face in a crowd or a fish in a sea
You can dredge the ground and still not find the key
To unlock a memory
Because, the face is still there and the fish is still swimming
Whether eyes are closed or lines are being cut
To undock remembering
Today a fire swept swiftly on by
No quelling rage
No escaping life
No rescuing a nesting sparrow this time
No debt unpaid
No plea heard
No rhyme to reason
It’s just like a race for the able or brail for the blind
You can experience something and still not allow life
To unlock a mystery
Because, the race is never won and the brail is never sight
Whether eyes are open or legs desire
To undock gravity
Today the sky taught me a lesson
And, released a sparrow back to gravity’s possession
No tears to cry
No rhyme to reason
