I could have fallen that day

If only my mouth would have spoken up

To say how much I’d like to know

Who you are and who you’d like to grow into

But, once again I stood silent inside

As the moment passed through my mind

The moment passed me by



I haven’t forgotten the swing your hips would do

Just to pull me to you

Just because you could

And, I haven’t gotten my breath renewed

Since I heard the terrible news



Darkness crept into your room

Pulled the shades near and tight

So the moon couldn’t shine the sun’s light through

And, I couldn’t do a thing to save you

But, pray the night would shake loose

And, that the light would break upon you

That the light would break upon you



I haven’t forgotten the swing of the pendulum’s move

Just to cut a line through you

Just because it could

And, I haven’t gotten my breath renewed

Since being hit with that terrible news



In the end, everything passes

But, right now I don’t understand why

Reasons won’t come no matter how hard you try

To make them come nearer to you



Now, all I can do is once again stand silent inside
